BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - We're two days away from Thanksgiving, but that didn't stop the construction workers assigned to MGM Park from eating the big meal a bit early.
Tuesday afternoon the Biloxi Shuckers organization served Thanksgiving lunch to the construction crews at the baseball stadium site.
Biloxi Shuckers General Manager Buck Rogers told WLOX News this was the team's way of thanking those who are making Biloxi baseball a reality.
"Everyday I drive by the stadium. I see something more done. I flip on the internet in the middle of the night and they are pouring concrete at 3 o'clock in the morning. Nobody knows that. Nobody knows how hard these guys work and nobody's thanking them. So we wanted to go out of our way just a small piece of it and and say, thanks."
This feeding comes one day after the team announced its name--The Biloxi Shuckers.
