JACKSON, MS (WLOX) - Protesters held signs and locked arms in downtown Jackson this morning. They blocked traffic on Pearl Street, making sure their anger about no indictments coming out of Ferguson, Missouri was seen and heard.
These advocates told the Raycom News Network they wanted to speak out against the grand jury's decision not to indict Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson. The white police officer fatally shot and killed Michael Brown, an unarmed man back in the summer. The Jackson protesters say they are fighting for solidarity. Their message is Ferguson is everywhere, and they say the time for healing is now.
A similar scene can be seen this morning in Memphis. In that protest, Raycom News Network reporters say protesters damaged property.
