PEARL RIVER COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - A Carriere man is charged with two counts of cyberstalking and one count of posting a threat to cause injury.
Joshua Scarabin, 40, is accused of stalking two members of the faculty. Investigators believe he also posted an e-mail threat against the University at its Gulf Park Campus in Long Beach.
The former University of Southern Mississippi student was arrested Saturday by the Pearl River County Sheriff's deputies. He was booked in Forrest County, and bond was set at $25,000 on each count.
"We urge any member of the University community to take threats made against them or others on the internet seriously, and to contact our department in these instances," said University Police Department Detective Rusty Keyes. "We're grateful for the assistance of the Pearl River County Sheriff's Office in this matter."
