GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - A man wanted in connection with a shooting in Gulfport was arrested Friday. Gulfport Police Chief Leonard Papania said Jabari Thompson, 18, is charged with aggravated assault stemming from a shooting that left the victim paralyzed.

According to investigators, Thompson and another man got into an argument on George Street on October 11. Police report the fight led to gunfire and the victim was shot in the upper torso. Police had been looking for Thompson since that night.

Papania reports detectives found Jabari Thompson at his home. He was taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center under a $500,000 bond.

Family members of the victim told WLOX News he is now paralyzed from the waist-down.
