One Man Finds Joy In Times Of Sorrow

Joey Martinez would have never guessed he would feel the joys of Christmas inside of a neighborhood feed store.

Over the last two days, Kenny Fazzio of Fazzio's Farm and Home Center collected donations from employees and customers for Joey Martinez, a person whose holiday has been filled with tragedy, but who recognizes a blessing in the midst of pain.

"God has angels on the Earth as well He does in heaven, and all the earthly angels come together and help me very tremendously. All of them. And it has renewed my faith in man and God," said Martinez.

"It makes you feel good to be able to give to somebody that's really in need. There are so many things that people do that's really not necessary, but we felt like this was really necessary contribute to him," said the owner of Fazzio's Farm and Home Center Kenny Fazzio.

But this contribution meant more than simply $1600.

For those who gave, it enhanced their Christmas spirit.

"It makes my heart full. Happy and just makes me feel real good all over. Real good," said Fazzio employee Sylvia Rediger.

And for the one who received.

"It's a feeling of knowing that there are people out there that just love the human being as a human. You know, and give unconditionally with no regrets and it's God's money. It's God moving through everybody. And for me to see God so much right now is letting me know that Margie is in heaven and I have nothing to worry about. I'm gonna miss her. I wish she could be here just to see just how good humanity is," said Martinez.

Every year, Fazzio's Farm and Home Center gives something back to the community at this time of year.

As for Mr. Martinez, he says right now, his greatest request from the community is its prayers.
