School board race to be decided by affidavit ballots

HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Every vote counts, and that's certainly the case in the Hancock County School Board election. Tuesday night, with 100 percent of the vote in, the District 5 school board race was tied at 575 votes.

Election officials tell WLOX News the race between Danita Holladay and Ben Taylor will be resolved with affidavit ballots, which will be inspected Wednesday.

There are 72 affidavit ballots in the entire county, and it's not clear how many of those will impact this race. There are no absentee ballots.
