Firefighters battle blaze and low temperatures

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Fire has forced a Biloxi family from their home. Biloxi Firefighters responded to a call at the Westwick Apartments off Pass Road Saturday night.

When they arrived, they found fire contained to one apartment unit. Crews were forced to extinguish the fire and secure the unit as temperatures dipped into the low 40s.

Biloxi Fire Chief Joe Boney says all four occupants of the unit, two adults and two children, evacuated without injuries.

Officials believe the fire may have started near a fire place.
The blaze is under investigation.
