The Friday Night Football Showdown kicks off Week 11

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Region 4-6A has two weeks remaining in the regular season and the four playoff spots are up for grabs. The first and second place teams gain the home field advantage in the playoffs beginning November 14.

Entering week 11, Ocean Springs is tied with Hattiesburg a top the standings with 4-1 records. Gulfport and D'Iberville are 3 and 2 while St. Martin and Harrison Central are both 2 and 3.  Biloxi is the only team out of the playoff hunt, but can play the role of spoiler.

The Fright Night Football Showdown will feature three Region 4-6A games tonight at 10;15 on WLOX-TV.  Gulfport travels to Ocean Springs, Harrison Central at st. Martin and Biloxi entertains Hancock. The other game has D'Iberville on the road at Hattiesburg.

The Friday Night Football Showdown also features the George County at Pascagoula game Long Beach at Gautier and Moss Point at Bay High.

Picayune can lock-up the Region 4-5A title by beating East Central in Pearl River County tonight.  Gautier and Pascagoula are tied for second place, a game behind the Maroon Tide.  Gautier entertains Long Beach and Pascagoula is at home hosting George County at War Memorial Stadium.  The other Region 4-5A game sends Stone High at West Harrison.

The Region 8-4A final regular season games hit the football turf tonight.  Poplarville has already won the region title.  The Hornets are 7 and 1 overall, 3-0 in the region standings and travel to Vancleave.  Win or lose the home standing Vancleave Bulldogs have already secured one of the four playoff berths.

St. Stanislaus has locked-up the home field advantage in the playoffs next week.  Tonight the Rockachaws entertain Pass Christian.

Moss Point is at Bay High tonight.  The Tigers from Jackson County get a playoff spot by beating the Hancock County Tigers or Moss Point still gets in even with a loss, as long as they lose by less than nine points.
