Two Killed In Small Plane Crash

A plane flying from Biloxi to Lake Charles, Louisiana crashed Tuesday, killing two people.

The plane crashed in St. Tammany Parish about four miles south of the airport at Abita Springs, said Tiffany Tate, a sheriff's department spokeswoman.

No details were available about the people killed or the type of plane, she said.

The plane was en route from Biloxi, Miss., to Lake Charles when it crashed. The pilot did not intend to land at Abita Springs, Tate said.

"It just so happened they crashed near the airport,'' she said.
