JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Four captive raised Mississippi Sandhill cranes were released at the wildlife refuge in Jackson County on Wednesday. The birds were raised in New Orleans by an Audubon group.

The refuge has been successfully releasing captive raised cranes since 1985. Biologists, interns and volunteers assisted with today's release.
