BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - With the November election right around the corner, Reform Party candidates stopped by WLOX to talk about their vision for the state of Mississippi.
Shawn O'Hara is running for the United States senate seat against incumbent Republican Thad Cochran and Democrat candidate Travis Childers. O'Hara said the state is ready for economic change.
"We need to lower gas prices," O'Hara said. "We need to lower energy prices, and we need to lower food prices."
O'Hara also recognized the looming decision the state is waiting on from the Mississippi State Supreme Court. "I want all of Chris McDaniel's supporters to vote for me," he said, "because Chris deserves a trial by jury."
Eli "Sarge" Jackson is running for the US District 4 House of Representative seat against incumbent Republican Steven Palazzo, Democrat Matt Moore, Libertarian Joey Robinson and Independents Cindy Burleson and Ed Reich.
He said he has served people his entire life, and he would be ready to take on the Representative seat with honesty. "I look to be fair," he said. "I could care less what everybody else does, but that's all I know how to do: be fair and honest."
