BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -
Matt Luke served on the coaching staff at Ole Miss with Ed Orgeron. After the coaching change Luke served on the Duke coaching staff under former Rebels head coach David Cutcliffe.
When Hugh Freeze was hired, he quickly hired Luke and the ride has been a steady climb upward, leading to a number three
national ranking and a possible shot at the National Championship.
Luke said, "The goal for us and all the media attention is just to try to stay focused and take it one game at a time. We're trying to get better each and every game and just trying to focus on the little things and not look at so much of the big picture because those rankings, they come but they can also leave very quickly."
Luke has always been an Ole Miss football fan.
"It's awesome to be able to share this experience with family because I think that's one that maybe when you're a little younger you take for granted but now that's I'm getting older in my 15 season of coaching, it's awesome to be able to share these moments with mom and dad and my brother and my sister," stated Luke. "So it's just been really special."
Matt Luke hopes to stay in Oxford with a goal of winning a National Championship.
