PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - Power has been restored to downtown Pascagoula after a series of unfortunate events Tuesday. Officials said an equipment failure caused a car fire and subsequently damaged power lines.
Mississippi Power spokesman Jeff Shepard said that equipment failure happened around noon and caused a live wire to fall onto a car, and set the vehicle on fire. Initially, about 1,100 people were without power. Just before 3pm, crews had restored power to all customers.
No injuries were reported.
