OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) -

What a difference a day makes. The thermometer fell steadily overnight, leaving behind a brisk Fall morning, Tuesday. This after two weeks of above normal temperatures.

The Biloxi Bay bridge was a hot spot Tuesday morning for walkers and joggers, simply because there wasn't any heat. One of them was Carlos Holloway.

"It's some beautiful weather out here today. It's nice and cool. It's not bad. It's a blessed day. I'm really enjoying it out here. It's real good for jogging, exercising and keeping yourself up," Holloway said.

Another was Cindy Pitler. She could hardly wait for this day to arrive.

"It feels wonderful. I'm actually from Oklahoma and I have been waiting on this weather all summer, so it's wonderful. Actually, I was faster today than what I was on Sunday when I ran," Pitler explained.

As the clouds gave way to brilliant sunshine, outdoor workers welcomed the change, as well.

"Spring and Fall, it makes it a lot easier. You don't have to worry about the heat stress," said public works employee David Knebel. "You still have to keep your fluids up, but you don't have to worry about getting overheated as much."

Trimming trees is a lot easier when it's in the 60s. So is walking the dog for Corey Christy.

"Well, it's pleasant. It really feels like Fall and you get to get out and do some activities without the sweat and the mugginess, so it's nice this time of year," Christy said.

Most people say they like this Fall feel simply to escape the high heat and humidity of summertime in South Mississippi. Some though, like this cool down for other reasons.

We found Richard Taylor enjoying the morning on his front porch.

"I like the change," Taylor said. "I don't like it consistently hot or cold. It's more invigorating when it goes up and down. This is the time of year it should start cooling off and enjoying the color and the temperature."

The cooler weather should be with us for the next few days, before it starts to warm up again by the end of the week.
