MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - The search is on for a Lucedale man police believe jumped off the Highway 613 bridge in Moss Point Sunday morning.
Moss Point Police Chief Art McClung said Randy Bermilyea, 56, jumped from the bridge around 9:27am. He had just been released from Singing River Hospital, and was being driven home. The driver told police Bermilyea asked to get out of the car because he was feeling sick, and needed to vomit. That's when, police say, he jumped over the railing and into the water.
Moss Point police and fire departments, as well as the Jackson County Sheriff's Marine Patrol and dive team are still searching for his body.
