Resurrection's Larry Sisson: Mississippi Power Player of the Week

PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - 6-foot, 185 pound senior quarterback Larry Sisson guided the Resurrection Eagles past Bogue Chitto on Friday.

Sisson was almost perfect in the passing department, having connected on 13 of 14 attempts for 345 yards and five touchdowns. He had a quarterback rating of 171.1 and get this, he only played a half before he was taken out of the game with the Eagles leading 42 to 8. Sisson is this week's Mississippi Power Player of the Week.

Larry Sisson said," We had a good week of practice all week and me and the receivers really clicked at the game. Darius Kennedy had two touchdowns and Troy Cobb had two touchdowns. I think every receiver had at least one catch."

Larry's dad, Scott Sisson is the head coach at Resurrection.

"He worked really hard," stated Sisson. "He worked on his progression reads. He worked on his footwork extra hard. It's been something he's been doing  for four years and he came out hot and next thing you know we were up by 4 or 5 touchdowns so it was time to pull him out."

On the season Larry Sisson has completed nearly 60 percent of his passes for 1,168 yards, 17 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions.

He's added 321 yards rushing, netting 8.9 yards per carry and four TDs.

Resurrection has ripped off 6 wins and only one defeat...4 and 1 in the Region 4-1A ranks.

Two running backs take pressure off Sisson. 6-1, 195 pound sophomore Patrick Watts and 5-8, 160 pound sophomore Justin Sharp. Combined they have 949 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns.

6-2, 190 pound receiver Darius Kennedy has snagged 18 passes with 6 touchdowns. and Troy Cobb has hauled in 18 catches for 7 touchdowns. Resurrection travels to Stringer Friday night.
