A man Jackson County investigators say they have been searching for since July in connection with counterfeit checks being used at local businesses has been arrested. Jackson County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 53-year-old Reginald Scott Thomas in Escatawpa Friday night.
Thomas who is from Hurley has been charged with uttering forgery for creating a counterfeit check that states it was issued by the state of Mississippi for $2,491.32. He was also charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest.
Thomas is being held in the Jackson County Jail. The State Department of Corrections has placed a probation hold on him. If convicted, Thomas could face up to 10 years in jail and up to a $10,000.00 fine.
