ATLANTA (WLOX) - It is being called one of the best marriage proposals ever. Overnight, a proposal become an Internet sensation and even made it on Good Morning America on Thursday.
A boyfriend proposed to his girlfriend on her birthday in the middle of a One Direction concert with the help of band member Harry Styles.
The lucky lady is former Miss Mississippi and D'Iberville High graduate Christine Kozlowski.
It was after the fifth or sixth song when Styles said to the thousands of fans at the Atlanta concert, "I have a friend in the audience tonight. He's called Bradley. Bradley, would you like to bring your girlfriend to the stage?"
Caught in the middle of all the screaming and excitement, Kozlowski's then boyfriend, Bradley Chisenhall, grabbed her hand and dropped to one knee, pulled out a ring and asked Kozlowski to be his wife.
All the fans were screaming and taking videos. Kozlowski shook her head yes, and at that moment, Styles yelled over the microphone, "She said yes."
After slipping the ring on her finger, Kozlowski jumped into her fiancé's arms.
"I think that the video speaks for itself. It was insane," Kozlowksi said. "I had no idea what was going on, but I just knew we got to the floor for some special reason, because initially we were in the nose bleeds. Before the concert, Bradley said, 'Harry got us tickets. They are at will call,' and I'm freaking out like how is this possible. He told me for the past several weeks, he was tweeting non-stop trying to get us tickets backstage because Shelby (Chisenhall's sister) has been a fan her whole life like many of the other girls there, so I was just thinking he is being like this awesome big brother trying to get his little sister back stage. He got us to the floor, and I was thinking this is crazy awesome, and then Harry was like, 'I have a friend name Bradley, and I was like what,'" said Kozlowski.
"I am always thinking what can I do to make the proposal awesome, for her to remember this forever, and I came up with some ideas, but I didn't think it was going to happen at all," Chisenhall said.
Chisenhall, who is not afraid to admit he is a big One Direction fan, said the proposal came together just two hours before the concert. Chisenhall said he reached out to Styles' mother on social media and Styles ended up messaging him.
"He said, 'let's make it happen,' so we were messaging back and forth, and right before he went on stage he said, 'watch for my cue. I will let you know when this is going to happen.' He came out on stage the first couple of songs. He was kind of staring at me like not yet, not yet," Chisenhall said. "About the fifth or sixth song, he gave me a thumbs up and after the song he said what he said."
The two love birds met on the dating app Tinder.
"The first time she messaged me, I thought she was cat fishing me, because I thought this girl is way to pretty," Chisenhall said about his fiancé.
The couple said they had an instant connection. The first time they talked on the phone, the conversation went on for more than five hours.
"People called us crazy, but we knew after three days that each other was the one. We just didn't talk about it at that time, and we probably knew after a week and a half we want to marry each other. I love you came out really fast," said Kozlowski.
"I always wanted to be around her and never got tired of being around her," Chisenhall said. "She makes me laugh and that's really big. It sounds like a cliché, but if someone can make me laugh a lot that's a big deal to me."
The newly engaged couple hopes to tie the knot next June, a year from the day they met face-to-face.
"I've already known, since I found him, I'm the luckiest girl in the world," Kozlowski said. "Before I knew his name, I called him prince charming, and this just proves it 100 percent. He's my soul mate. There's no topping this. He's made it really tough for all the guys out there. Sorry guys."
What made the night even more amazing, the couple said, is they got to hang out with Styles on the One Direction tour bus after the concert. Chisenhall said they lost the keys to the car and were looking in lost and found when he heard someone say, "Bradley, is everything ok?"
Chisenhall turned around and said it was Styles.
Styles invited the couple and Chisenhall's sister on their tour bus to hang out, charge their phones and figure out how to get home. Styles asked the couple to let them know when they made it back alright so Chisenhall messaged him, "We made it back man. Thanks again for everything. Talk soon. You're the best."
Styles responded, "Good man. Let me know when you get everything sorted out with the car. Congratulations again, H."
