GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - In Gulfport Monday dozens of families received some fresh produce free of charge.
United Healthcare partnered with Alcorn State University to sponsor the Farm to Fork Movement.
In three locations across the state on Monday, brown bags filled with produce were distributed to folks in areas with limited access to nutritious food.
Coastal Family Health in Gulfport, was one of the site's for this year's distribution.
"Start eating right and you start developing healthy habits earlier in life and that actually turns into positive health outcomes. It's one of the main reasons why we actually started this program," Kobie Wells with United Healthcare.
This is the second year, of the Farm to Fork distribution day.
