GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - The Gulfport man accused of gunning down a relative Wednesday afternoon had his initial appearance before a judge Friday morning. Dante O'Bryan Taylor, 27, appeared before Justice Court Judge Bruce Strong at 9 a.m.
Taylor petitioned the court for a court appointed attorney.
Taylor is charged with the murder of Willie Taylor, 41, who was gunned down in front of an apartment complex on 23rd Street shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Willie died shortly after he was taken to the hospital. Taylor was arrested during a traffic stop about seven hours later. He is being held at the Harrison County Jail on a $1 million bond.
