BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Tyler Bouldin, yours truly and four other photographers will be heading out across the Mississippi Gulf Coast getting highlights from six area high school football games to be aired on the Friday Night Football Showdown at 10:15.
At 10:35 on WLOX.com we will have the Friday Night Football Showdown Post Game Show with coaches interviews and live in-studio guests.
The featured games tonight include: Moss Point at Biloxi, Bay High at Hancock, West Jones at Harrison Central, D'Iberville at West Harrison, Vancleave at Gautier and West Marion at Pass Christian.
Hancock features the passing and running talents of quarterback Chase Fagan. He's helped guide the Hawks to 2 wins and 1 loss on the season. Fagan has completed 52 of 78 passes for 755 yards and has rushed for 418 yards.
Bay High (2-2) is coming off back-to-back wins and will fast a stern test on the road tonight. The Tigers like to run the football behind Keishaun Pullom and Tristan Hopgood. Pullom has 378 yards rushing and Hopgood has scamper 267 yards.
Harrison Central has a chance to become the first team in school history to start off the season with 5 straight wins. The Red Rebels have the home field advantage tonight hosting West Jones
Dwayne Barnett is leading the coast with 702 yards rushing and Dee White has added 397 yards on the ground giving the Red Rebels of head coach Steve Jones a one-two punch in the running game.
Biloxi (2-1) lost for the first time last week on the road at powerful Oak Grove 59 to 35. The Indians feature the passing of senior quarterback Blake Johnson. He's connected on 72 of 113 passing attempts for 979 yards The Indians entertain Moss Point (1-3).
Vancleave has experienced a rash of injuries but running back Walter Williams is expected to be in the starting lineup tonight. Quarterback Parker Bourque is still recovering from a broken bone in his hand and may or may not be ready for the Gators. Gautier also has experienced an injury bug. Quarterback LeCharles Pringle is back playing with a cast after he broke his wrist.
Quarterback Tyler Ladner will be running the show for the Pass Christian Pirates hosting West Marion. Ladner had a big night in last week's 42-17 win over West Harrison. He totaled 4 touchdowns, 2 rushing and 2 passing and piled up 362 yards passing on the night.
D'Iberville (2-2) travels to West Harrison. The Warriors are coming off a 20-10 win over Pascagoula last week. Coach Buddy Singleton has been using a two quarterback system with Andrew Bird and Peyton Stenum both getting a chance to run the Warriors offensive attack.
