JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - The Jackson County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) kicked off its annual blanket drive Monday.
Officials dropped off the collection bins Monday so people could begin donating new or newly-made blankets. The blankets will be given to needy children, as well as to children participating in Jackson County's Adoption Day in November.
"We had around 4,700 children in the State of Mississippi, who are ready to be adopted," said Francis Allsup, CASA executive director. "We have a little less than a hundred needing homes."
The blanket drive will continue until Friday, October 31, 2014. You may drop off donations at Hancock Bank in Gautier, Ocean Springs City Hall, and Jackson County CASA at Jackson County Youth Court.
