Sinkhole in one coast neighborhood finally fixed

Residents in one Escatawpa neighborhood now have a smoother drive on their street after dealing with a supersized sinkhole for months. Several fed up residents called WLOX last month because they were upset about a sinkhole swallowing Spring Water Street.

WLOX then contacted the city of Moss Point to help get the problem fixed as soon as possible. Residents say the sinkhole has now been filled in and this street repair will reduce the danger for drivers as well as folks walking in the neighborhood.

"Here, at least you can pass. It is presentable and you won't tear a car up. Well, I thought with WLOX I was going to get some answers. But, when I started talking for myself, I couldn't get no  answers. They would be out. They would be out. Never did come out. And, so when I called WLOX they came out. So I see how to get them out now," said Alvin Stringfield, resident.

Stringfield said the city still has to clean the neighborhood ditches to avoid water from backing up in the area.
