"US News and World Report" released its Best College Rankings Tuesday and William Carey University made the list. When it comes to college costs in the southern region, William Carey was the only Mississippi school on the list of graduates with the least amount of debt.
The university president credits that to the school's low tuition, generous scholarships and more than 90% of the students receive some sort of financial aid.
"I think it's great, that is the subject that is on the mind nationwide of parents: debt, college debt and to be chosen one of five schools in the entire south where the students graduate with a low debt. That's something we're quite proud of," said Dr. Tommy King, William Carey University President.
Both public and private schools were considered in the report. William Carey also ranked high in the Great Schools, Great Prices category.
