Hancock quarterback Chase Fagan had a big night this past Friday leading the Hawks past East Central 41 to 21.
Fagan, a dual threat quarterback had 235 yards rushing and cracked the goal line twice. The senior added 217 passing yards with 2 TDs. That's 452 yards of offense and four touchdowns. Chase Fagan is the Mississippi Power Player of the Week.
Fagan said,"We were on. We practiced a lot and our offense had to win the game for us because their offense was pretty goodSo we had to put up a lot of points."@
Fagan suffered a season ending shoulder injury in 2013. He's back, giving the Hawks of head coach Rocky Gaudin an explosive offensive weapon.
"The first four games of the year last year until he got hurt, that was an average game for him,"stated Gaudin. "That's why it hurt us so much when he went down after the fourth game before we got into District. We're just thankful he was able to come back and be his old self again." Rocky added,"Obviously he's got really good speed. His speed is deceptive. You really don't know how fast he is. He's got that extra gear that they sometimes talk about. So he's a combination. He's truly a dual threat quarterback."
After two games, Fagan has 417 yards passing with 3 touchdowns and 337 yards rushing and 5 TDs.
His top receivers are Preston Willoz, Malcolm Rawls, Cade Malley and tight end Eric Feazelle.
Chase and his Hancock teammates travel to Sumrall Friday night at seven.
