GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Gulfport stray cats and dogs may soon be housed at the Humane Society of South Mississippi (HSSM) again.
According to city council members Rusty Walker and Ricky Dombrowski, the council approved a proposed revised contract Tuesday.
Work on the proposal has gone on for some time between the HSSM board members, the city's legal team and the police department.
"It's pretty much a revised contract that we had with them from the beginning. It's actually a three year deal as well," said Dombrowski.
Now the HSSM board has to approve the proposal for it to be finalized. The city has been housing its own animals due to a financial disagreement with the shelter.
