BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) has closed parts of the beaches in Pass Christian and Biloxi.
People are being asked not enter the water or eat any seafood caught from the near shore waters until further notice, according to MDEQ.
The beach closure in Biloxi begins at Beauvoir east to Sadler Beach Drive. In Pass Christian the closure begins at Espy Avenue to Hayden Avenue.
According to MDEQ, the closure in Biloxi was caused by a sewage bypass at the lift station at Brady Drive. And a lift station power outage is to blame for the bypass, which caused the closure in Pass Christian.
