BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - A team of workers assembled a 33,000 piece puzzle that is now on display at Edgewater Mall. Puzzles USA purchased the kit from a company in Spain, and the box boasts it contains, "the greatest number of pieces in the world."
A dozen employees and customers began putting the pieces together in May.
"When you open up that box, and you have 33,000 pieces, it's chaos," said David Murray. "Your job is to create something from that chaos, to create a finished project. You can see how magnificent the artwork is, and it was just a lot of fun."
After 1,800 long hours, their labor has paid off. The finished piece is more than five feet wide and 18 feet long.
The puzzle is on display inside Edgewater Mall between Auntie Anne's and Dillard's. It will stay up through the first of the year.
If you are interested, you may purchase it for $5,000, or you can try your own hand at it. An unassembled puzzle is $475.
