Chesterfield man killed in car crash

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

A Chesterfield man was killed Saturday morning when the car he was driving ran off the road striking two power poles in the 6400 block of Jefferson Davis Road.  The driver has been identified as Bryan Jamieson Holmes, 31, of the 3200 block of Meadowdale Boulevard.

Holmes was the only occupant in the car.  Police said he was traveling south on Jefferson Davis around 1:45 a.m. when the accident happened. 

Holmes was taken to VCU Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.  Police continue to investigate the crash.

    Chesterfield Police are trying to figure out what led to gunfire in a Chesterfield neighborhood Saturday night. Officers responded just before 11:00 p.m. to the 2200 block of Early Settlers Road and discovered multiple cars with bullet holes.
