BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

A Destin, FL man remains behind bars after leading Biloxi police on a high speed chase along Highway 90 Wednesday morning. Police say Jeremy Fogleman is facing charges of misdemeanor traffic violations and felony eluding.

When police finally got a chance to search the man's vehicle what they found inside led to even more charges for the man.

"Well we've had a rash of burglaries lately. And this individual became a person of interest to us earlier today," said Biloxi Police Chief John Miller.

Rings, watches, a lighter were all found inside 35-year-old Jeremy Fogleman's 2015 Dodge Charger.

Chief Miller says officers tried to stop Fogleman at Oak and Fifth Streets before he reportedly fled heading west on highway 90. The chase soon ends after police say Fogleman ran a stop sign and crashed into another car near Beauvoir.

"Looked like four or five different police or patrol cars chasing him. And when he got up here to the light he tried to loop around and make a u-turn trying to get away from them and hit this Honda," said Jerry Blay who witnessed chase.

The victims who were hit and Fogleman were taken to the hospital with injuries.

Chief Miller says after searching his vehicle police found what they believe was stolen jewelry in a Ziploc bag, and also found what investigators say are multiple counterfeit check with amounts as high as $34,000. But there were additional items that they believe could give him more charges.

"He's in possession of many IDs that don't belong to him. Real IDs. This is a bad guy. This is truly a bad guy probably floats from state to state and so far he's been able to elude each state he probably causes a lot of trouble there," Chief Miller said.

Folgeman has active felony warrants through police in Fort Walton Beach on unrelated charges. The suspect is also facing charges for possessing fraudulent checks, and police say he could face even more charges. Police say if you believe you recognize any of the stolen items or checks or if you know anything about the Fogleman you're asked to call Biloxi Police at 228-702-3112.
