Local artist's work will represent Gautier Mullet Fest

Preparations for Gautier's Mullet and Music Festival in October are underway. Sunday organizers unveiled the signature art piece to represent the event.

Local artist Willie Dees created the piece. His work was chosen from 11 other entries in the art competition.

"I feel great about winning and I am more than excited about the Mullet Fest because I have a lot of works I need to show and get more exposure to my art work," said Willie Dees. "My motivation was the diversity of wildlife in this area," he added.

Dees' winning work will be printed on posters and shirts for the festival.

The Gautier Mullet and Music Festival will be held October 18th and 19th and it is free to the public. If you want more information, call Gautier City Hall at 228-497-8000.
