Lawsuit Filed In Jackson Gang Rape Case

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

There are new developments in the brutal gang rape of a Jackson woman. A lawsuit has been filed against the owners of the Shell Gas Station where the attack happened.

The woman, a 35-year-old mother, says three men raped her at a convenience store on Daniel Lake Boulevard.

She told us in an exclusive interview last month two of the men had guns, but the store clerk would not help and did not call police. The clerk claims he did.

Attorney Malcolm Harrison filed the lawsuit Friday citing a lack of security and negligence.  It also states the owners should have taken reasonable precautions or measures to protect customers.

Three men have been arrested in the case; 18-year-old Edward Samuel is charged with sexual battery, 20 year old Ja'Lon Jones is charged with sexual battery and accessory after the fact to armed robbery, and 18 year old Marquise Samuel is charged with rape and armed robbery.
