WAVELAND, MS (WLOX) -

Waveland city leaders are closely watching the developments in Ocean Springs regarding Psycamore Clinic. A similar lawsuit involving the Americans With Disabilities Act may be filed against that city.

The Waveland Planning and Zoning Commission recently shot down a proposal to locate a methadone clinic in a building on Highway 90. The Waveland Board of Alderman voted to back the Commission's decision.

But Waveland's city attorney, Gary Yarborough, said there are differences in the two cases.

"Here is a clear distinction of what's at issue there and what's at issue here," Yarborough explained. "With that said we always evaluate these things as we go forward. The city is still comfortable with their decision. As far as anything else, we really can't comment because of pending litigation."

Patrick Sheehan, the attorney hired by the owner of the building where the clinic wants to operate, said even though there are differences in the cases, Waveland is still open to similar exposure and damages that Ocean Springs is now facing.
