GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

What would you do if you witnessed a crash and explosion directly in front of you on the interstate? Would you stop to help?

A video posted Sunday to YouTube shows the moment when a Lincoln Towncar and an 18-wheeler collided last Monday on I-10 in Gulfport. It happened near the Hwy 49 exit around 5:30pm.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, hang on!" the driver yells out as he watches the crash unfold in front of him.

The five and a half minute video shows that driver, and several people running to the burning wreckage to help the victims. One man is armed with a fire extinguisher. For three minutes, the Good Samaritans tend to the crash survivors before Gulfport Police and firefighters arrive at the scene.

As WLOX News reported last week, the driver of the car was at fault in the accident. She and a small child were able to escape the wreckage unharmed.

Scott Swanstrom, who was driving the 18-wheeler, was also unharmed. He told WLOX News the day after the crash, "I don't know how we made it through that. I'm just glad that baby is ok."

14 years as part of the Ole Miss football program as a coach or player has prepared Matt Luke for this opportunity. Admittedly it doesn't come under the circumstances he might've envisioned. But with a Rebel bloodline that runs 3 generations deep, the position fulfills a lifelong dream. "I can truly tell y'all today that this is my dream job," Luke said Monday at his first press conference as Ole Miss interim head coach. "It's a job that I've been preparing my whole li...

The Pascagoula Panthers open the 2017 football season on the road. In fact, their first three games are road contests. That scheduling quirk may give field turf crews just enough time to get War Memorial Stadium ready for the September 8 home opener. The wet weather in South Mississippi is placing quite the burden on construction workers as they attempt to complete stadium renovations. The project was suppose to be finished before the beginning of Pascagoula's football season.
