Alleged Bourbon Street shooter to appear before grand jury Thursday

Trung Le Trung Le

The case of a man accused of shooting ten people on Bourbon Street goes before a grand jury Thursday.

Trung Le, 20, faces one count of first degree murder and nine counts of attempted first degree murder.

His defense team filed a motion attempting to obtain video they claim shows Le acting in self defense. A judge denied that motion on Monday.

Le's attorneys say the surveillance video shows he defended himself as another person waved a gun at people on Bourbon Street.

Brittany Thomas, 21 of Hammond, was killed in the shooting. Nine other people were hurt.
