OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) -

On Sunday, WLOX News heard from the woman Ocean Springs Mayor Connie Moran is blaming for the city's violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

In a statement made by Moran on Saturday, she blamed Lori Carter, who is now on the city's planning commission, for creating hysteria over the possibility of Psycamore Mental Health Clinic moving to Iberville Drive back in 2011.

Moran claims Carter passed out flyers portraying the clinic as a psych ward, and she has called for her to step down from her position on the planning commission.

We were able to contact Carter about Moran's allegation. Carter told us she didn't know why the mayor was targeting her.

"I am just a volunteer on the planning commission, and if I step down, it will be on my own terms," said Carter.

She went on to say she did not start the circulation of the flyers, and she was only opposed to the clinic moving to the Iberville Drive location, because she lives two doors down from the property and felt that parking would be an issue.

Carter says she has no intentions of addressing the mayor about these allegations at this time.
