AUBURN, Ala. – The 2015 SEC basketball schedule has been released by the conference office. Auburn will play home-and-home games with Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Missouri and Texas A&M and will appear on ESPN or ESPN2 a total of four times.
"The SEC is getting stronger and stronger every year," head coach Bruce Pearl said. "I think the SEC has five or six NCAA Tournament teams. That doesn't mean four or five other teams in our league, Auburn included, that can't jump in there and be close to the top-5 teams. I think the SEC will have six teams playing come March."
Auburn opens the SEC schedule on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at Vanderbilt at 8 p.m. CT on ESPNU. Pearl's first home SEC game is Saturday, Jan. 10 against Missouri on the SEC Network. A road trip to Florida follows on Thursday, Jan. 15 on ESPN or ESPN2 at 6 p.m.
Auburn returns home for back-to-back home games against South Carolina on Saturday, Jan. 17 and Mississippi State on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m., both on the SEC Network.
Auburn closes out the month at Alabama on Saturday, Jan. 24 on the SEC Network and home to Texas A&M on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 8 p.m. on the SEC Network before Pearl's return to Knoxville, Tenn., to face his former team, Tennessee, on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. on either ESPN or ESPN2.
Auburn plays at LSU on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. on ESPN or ESPN2 to open up the month. Consecutive home games against Ole Miss on Saturday, Feb. 7 on the SEC Network and Arkansas on Tuesday, Feb. 10 on ESPNU at 8 p.m. are followed by a road game at Georgia on Saturday, Feb. 14 on FSN.
Tuesday, Feb. 17 brings Alabama to Auburn Arena at 8 p.m. on ESPNU before Auburn's trip to Kentucky on Saturday, Feb. 21 on either ESPN or ESPN2 at 5 p.m. The month ends with a home game against LSU on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. on ESPNU and a Saturday, Feb. 28 game at Texas A&M on the SEC Network.
The regular season ends with a trip to Missouri on Tuesday, March 3 on the SEC Network at 8 p.m. and a home game against Georgia on Saturday, March 7 on the SEC Network.
