This summer, a donation of $3,800 was made to the Memorial Hospital Foundation that will help cancer patients who receive treatments in Gulfport.
The Roy & Louise Anderson Endowment Fund, administered by the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, made the generous donation.
The donation was made under the direction of Roy Anderson III, who feels that this is a great cause and something both of his parents would fully support.
"The Anderson family has a long standing relationship with our hospital and foundation. We are thrilled that they have chosen to designate funding to our oncology patient fund," said Dave Estorge. Estorge is the President for the Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Estorge also says the foundation assists approximately 80-100 patients per year with prescription drugs, nutritional supplements and transportation.
The Gulf Coast Community Foundation is a non-profit public charity. They have been serving South Mississippi since 1989. The organization seeks to increase philanthropy by making grants to worthy causes, providing donor services and promotion, and providing leadership in response to the community's changing needs. The foundation develops and manages funds to meet the needs of the community.
