Donation funds WINGS Performing Arts at Lynn Meadows

Children involved in the WINGS Performing Arts program at Lynn Meadows Discovery Center have an exciting fall schedule ahead of them.  Plays such as Into the Woods, Remembrance, Winnie the Pooh - The Christmas Tail, and Tarzan are all planned for the 2014 - 2015 season.  But none of it would have been possible without a generous donation handed over to the nationally recognized performing arts program on Thursday.

Ladies from the Junior Auxiliary of Gulfport were at the Discovery Center Thursday to present the WINGS program with a $5,000 check.  That money will help pay for all the scripts, sets, costumes, and rights necessary to bring those plays to life.

The WINGS program helps nurture talent, spirit and leadership in children and youth in south Mississippi. Every year the Junior Auxiliary of Gulfport helps fund their programs, which enrich the lives of hundreds of children.  That's just part of Junior Auxiliary of Gulfport's mission to educate, clothe, feed, and nurture children, especially those less fortunate, in Gulfport, Long Beach, Pass Christian, and west Harrison County.
