HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - WLOX News has learned of a new development in the murder and dismemberment case of Jaren Lockhart. A Jefferson Parish grand jury indicted Margaret Sanchez, 30, on charges of second degree murder, obstruction of justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice.
Lockhart, 22, was reported missing out of New Orleans in June of 2012, and her remains washed up in Hancock County a day later. Officials with the Hancock County Sheriff's Department believe Lockhart was murdered in Louisiana, and her body was brought to Mississippi to be disposed of.
Lockhart was last seen with Sanchez and Terry Speaks, 41, in New Orleans surveillance video the day before her remains washed ashore in Hancock County.
Speaks is also charged with second degree murder and obstruction of justice.
