A new museum will showcase the rich history of Pearl River County. The county's historical society plans to open a museum on the third floor of city hall.
So far the organizers have collected several items from kerosene lanterns to a two man saw. But officials say they're in need of more donations.
The public is asked to give items that show how Pearl River county residents lived in days gone by from the days of Native Americans to the mid 20th century.
"Young people coming up need to know where they came from, what life was like in earlier times, said Jerry Stough with the Picayune Historical Society. "So they will know. History is every day. What we're doing today will be tomorrow's history," Stough added.
If you have items you would like to donate please send Jerry Stough an email at email@example.com.
