GEORGE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - A routine patrol on a George County road resulted in a drug arrest on Tuesday. Officials say George County Sheriff's deputies were driving down Weaver Road in the Basin Community when they noticed the passengers in a vehicle coming from the opposite direction were not wearing their seatbelts.
Officials say when they pulled the vehicle over, the driver, 22-year-old Hunter Sparks Dubose, appeared visibly nervous to the point of shaking. In addition to Dubose, there were two females and one male in the car. The car's owner was in the back seat.
When deputies asked to search the vehicle, Dubose and the owner of the vehicle gave conflicting answers. When deputies called for a K9 unit to search the car, authorities say Dubose admitted to being in possession of "ice."
Dubose was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance.
