OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) -

Insurance adjusters and fire investigators are sifting through the rubble at the destroyed Blossman YMCA Senior Center in Ocean Springs on Wednesday. They're still trying to figure out what sparked the massive fire that tore through the center on July 24.

"We really don't know a lot about the fire at this point," said Eric Baacke, CFO of the Blossman YMCA Senior Center. "Certainly, by the end of today, we will have moved a long way toward having those answers."

Fire officials say no one was inside the building when the fire started. It took firefighters more than two hours to put out the fiery blaze.

The building also had a lot of equipment inside that is now destroyed. Several CPR mannequins, tables, chairs and weights were in the building. YMCA officials estimate about $300,000 in damage.

The facility was part of the YMCA's $2.5 million expansion renovation project. Several senior fitness and CPR classes met at the center, as well as the youth opportunities program.

Officials from the State Fire Marshal's Office tell us they have not determined the exact cause of the fire, but they have ruled it was not intentional. Now, insurance investigators will try to determine what actually caused the blaze.

We will have the latest on this investigation later today on WLOX News and on WLOX.com.
