METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) -

Brazen car burglars are targeting Old Metairie. FOX 8 News obtained surveillance video which shows a group of unidentified males walking down Metairie Lawn Drive.

At least two of them appear to have guns pointed as they approach driveways. Cameras also caught some of the men entering unlocked vehicles while clutching what appeared to be a firearm.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said there may have been up to a dozen car burglaries in the area Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

Burglaries also occurred in the 100-300 blocks of Labarre Road and that general area.

All of the vehicles burglarized were left unlocked, according to JPSO spokesperson Col. John Fortunato. Investigators believe the suspects used a black 2013 Honda Accord with Louisiana license plate WWZ539. The car was reported stolen from the 2600 block of Vivian Street.

The vehicle has not been recovered, but it was spotted by a camera on the west bank on the morning of the burglaries.

If you have any information that might help detectives, call Crimestoppers 504-822-1111.
