Biloxi is getting closer to a having a minor league baseball stadium. But contractors will have to wait almost two weeks before they can get a green light to continue construction.
Engineers installed two test piles on August 8th to be sure soil conditions were good to continue with the complete pile installation. The piles are on the south side of the complex to support the stadium garage.
Jason Wold, project executive with Yates Construction, said the test piles have to cure for 14 days before engineers can do a compressed load test. Wold said he is confident the test on August 22nd will be successful. In the meantime, Wold said construction continues on the fabrication of structural steel and footings at the stadium.
