Police: Suspect confesses to deadly shooting in N.O. East

A man was arrested Thursday in connection with a fatal shooting in New Orleans East.

Jean Williams, 24, was arrested at a home in the 3500 block of Clematis Street for a shooting that fatally wounded a 30-year-old man. The incident occurred Thursday just after 9 a.m. in the 6800 block of Parc Brittany Boulevard. Officers arrived and found the victim shot multiple times inside a car. He later died at the hospital.

Police said detectives were able to develop Williams as a suspect through citizen involvement. They said Williams was questioned and later confessed to the killing.
