HATTIESBURG, MS (WLOX) - A key player in the DMR corruption scandal pleaded guilty today. Officials with the U.S. District Attorney's Office tell us Joe Ziegler pleaded guilty to "misprision of a felony," meaning he helped conceal a crime. That crime was mail fraud.
Ziegler was the former Chief of Staff at the DMR.
We've learned Ziegler's sentencing is set for Nov. 10. The maximum penalty for this crime is three years behind bars and a $250,000 fine.
