JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Cow figurines and old birthday cards may be the clues that help catch a storage shed burglar still on the loose in Jackson County.
Sheriff's investigators recently received a tip about an abandoned house containing stolen property in Moss Point.
"When they searched the garage, several boxes of birthday cards, cow figurines and other nick-naks were discovered, which led to the identity of the victims," Sheriff Charles Britt said.
The sheriff said there was a "For Sale" sign in the yard with a cell phone number on it belonging to Mark Andrew Clark. Investigators believe the 50-year-old has been using the abandoned home as a makeshift distribution center for items he takes from storage sheds in Vancleave and Gulf Park Estates.
The items recovered so far are most likely worthless to Clark, but they've helped investigators identify three separate victims. Officials believe the burglaries date back to October 2013.
If you've seen Mark Clark, or have any information about the burglaries, call Investigator Mickey Powell at (228) 769-3159.
Clark faces at least three charges of commercial burglary and additional charges could follow. If convicted, he could be sentenced to 10 years on each count and ordered to pay a $30,000 fine.
