COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Because the story about the South Carolina Gamecocks self-reporting violations of impermissible benefits involving icing on a cookie cake isn't hilarious enough, the Great American Cookie Company has just pushed this story further into the absurd.

The company tweeted a photo of a cookie cake that reads "Thank You! NCAA" to the South Carolina football team's twitter account. Because Thank You wasn't enough, the cookie maker iced a nice smiling face on top of the cookie.

"Thought you might appreciate," the tweet from the company said, "Sending 12 to NCAA prez to celebrate return of icing."

As mentioned above, the Gamecocks had to report violations involving the football program to the NCAA late last week.

One of those violations, the aforementioned icing on a cookie, turned into a story that gave NCAA critics another talking point to use against the collegiate athletics group.

Late Tuesday night, the NCAA reported that the cookie icing was, in fact, not that big of a deal after all.

No word on if NCAA President Mark Emmert has received the cookie cake.
