Texas eliminated Biloxi in the Little League Baseball Semifinals 12-6 Tuesday

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Pearland, Texas batted around in the top of the first inning and grabbed a lead it would not give up.  A two-run triple off the bat of Brandon Sliwinski highlighted the four-run inning.

Texas would plate four more runs in the fourth inning, thanks to a five walks and a Sliwinski double.

Pearland led 12-1 when Biloxi came to bat in the bottom of the seventh.  Our locals boys made a gallant rally sending 11 batters to the plate and scored 5-runs before Texas got the final out, preserving a 12-6 victory.

Texas advances to the Southwest Regional championship game facing South Lake Charles, Louisiana Wednesday night.

Lake Charles looked as if they would coast under the win column after exploding to a 7-0 lead over Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Albuquerque plated seven runs in the third inning to tie the game and led 9-7 on doubles by Josh Apodaca and Jacob Carbajal and an RBI single by Chase Weissenborn.

Louisiana wouldn't fold.  Gus Milligan ripped a two-run homer in the top of the sixth.  In the seventh, Davis Meche belted an RBI single giving Lake Charles a 10-9 advantage.

Meche closed out the game on the mound and made sure New Mexico would not score another run.  It's the fifth time a team from Louisiana has cracked the championship game in the Southwest Regional and the third time a team from South Lake Charles has advanced to the title game.
